From July 26th through July 30th, we held Camp Impact, a joyful, fun-filled weeklong summer camp experience for children ages 6-12 who are currently experiencing or have previously experienced homelessness or are from low income families. Through a combination of traditional indoor and outdoor camp activities, like swimming, games, and Arts & Crafts, our campers, the majority of whom had not previously attended an overnight camp, had overcome fears, tried new things, made friends, and grown in confidence.
Thank you to all the volunteers, counselors, staff members, and donors who made this camp possible!
Dates for Camp Impact 2022 have not yet been announced. Once decided, we will post counselor and volunteer opportunities to this page.
Camp Impact campers rode horses at Camp Cole Therapeutic Riding, went swimming in our zero-entry pool, made masterpieces at Arts & Crafts, kayaked, canoed, and fished in Peter’s Pond, and participated in Movement Class.
In addition to their daytime camp activities, our campers enjoyed evening activities. These included a special dance performance from Dreher High School’s Dance Team, a concert with Sarah Adams, Blake Weinbach, and J.T. Bruce, an Olympic Games Night led by Rob Simmons at Results Fitness, a Glow Dance dj’d by Troy Fite, and a Cabin Night.
