Kelsey Sawyer Carter and Margaret Deans Grantz’s long-time friendship took root after losing loved ones to cancer. Kelsey lost her younger brother, Cole, and Margaret Deans lost a childhood friend. Their unique bond grew even stronger as their dream to build Camp Cole took shape. 

Together, they established one of South Carolina’s most beloved and accessible camp and retreat facilities dedicated to uniting children, adults, and families who need it most. 

Inspired by stories of people facing health and life challenges, they drew on their backgrounds in education, marketing, and fundraising to navigate the establishment of Camp Cole with support from a caring, talented, and dedicated Board of Directors. 

Their servants’ hearts continue to guide Camp Cole forward, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to transforming lives through advocacy, programming, and collaborations with healthcare providers.
