Marketing and Events Intern

Camp Cole is seeking a passionate, hard-working individual to serve as

Marketing and Events Intern

Camp Cole is a non-profit organization dedicated to building Columbia’s first overnight camp and retreat center for children, teens, and adults living with disabilities, illnesses, and other life challenges. Camp Cole will soon be a place where individuals and groups can come together to connect, share, encourage, and shine.

The Marketing/Event Intern will work with the Executive Director and Director of Development and Marketing on a variety of projects throughout the course of the internship, including, but not limited to: Annual 5K Trail Run, Songwriters for Camp Cole event, monthly newsletters, social media platforms, and the Shine On Capital Campaign. The internship is ideal for someone interested in receiving hands-on education about the world of non-profits. The Intern will gain experience and knowledge in event planning, social media management, and donor management. 

  • Social Media Management – The Intern will manage Camp Cole’s social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram). Responsibilities include content creation, daily postings, campaigns, and overall management. 
  • Signature Events – The Intern will assist the Director of Marketing and Development and the fundraising committee on planning and executing Camp Cole’s signature events. The Intern will assist in promoting events, securing sponsorships, and general execution. 
  • Shine On Capital Campaign – The Intern will assist the Camp Cole Team with tasks related to the campaign, such as researching grant opportunities, donor management, and administrative assistance. 

Other projects & assignments will be addressed on an as-needed basis. This job description is not all-inclusive.

Qualifications
  • Ability to professionally communicate, both orally and written
  • Neat penmanship
  • Passion for event management and marketing/communications
  • Able to work well with others
  • Able to balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Self-starter who seeks and finds ways to help
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to dedicate at least 20 hours per week
  • Has a passion for helping others, our community, and the Camp Cole mission
